Museums

Turkey is known as the world’s great open air museum, a tag the authorities have consistently encouraged.  Which may go some way to explaining why its actual museums, though full of marvels, have with some notable exceptions tended to be dispiriting affairs.  All that is now changing rapidly as imaginative and technical standards of curation and display are transformed.
