From a host of vantage points – Ölüdeniz, the Kaya ruins and various places along the Yediburunlar coast – the 2,000-metre heights of Babadağı (Father Mountain) look impressive. The view the other way round – taking off from the summit by paraglider to look out over the likes of Butterfly Valley to the beach at Kabak and even distant Rhodes – is breath-taking.
The tandem flight (in harness with a professional guide) leaves from the summit of Babadağı, often picking up lifting thermals before beginning a glorious 30-minute drift down the mountain. This is an exhilarating experience which culminates with a landing right on the beach at Ölüdeniz; step out of your harness and celebrate with a dip. Flights cost around £80.
