Things to Do
Turkey’s spectacular topography – a concertina coast, wide delta plains and wooded mountain ranges – makes not only for exceptional beaches but for a wide range of outdoor activities.
Turkey is especially a walker’s paradise, not only in the southwest corner where the country’s first long-distance trails are now established, but also in more remote upland areas such as Cappadocia in Central Turkey and the Kaçkar Mountains in the far northeast.
Sea-kayaking is popular in Kekova and along the Yediburunlar (Seven Capes) coast. Guided para-gliding flights from the panoramic heights of Babadağ are a memorable means of arriving on the beach at Öludeniz while canyons near Marmaris and Fethiye offer some exhilarating descents. Hot-air ballooning is established in Cappadocia.
